 As Apple has removed telnet (and ftp, and rcp, rlogin, rsh... but not
 tftp) in High Sierra, it's now up to macports to provide such feature.

 Two possibilities (at least):
 - using telnet code from Apple in Sierra (opensourced and available), as
 did Homebrew: http://formulae.brew.sh/formula/telnet
 - using GNU inetutils package (also adds ftp/rsh/rlogin/tftp)
