Comment (by MarcusCalhoun-Lopez):

This problem seems to have been reported
 [https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=63826 upstream],
 on [https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10327939/error-no-such-
 instruction-while-assembling-project-on-mac-os-x stackoverflow],
 on [https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17126593/compile-errors-with-
 assembler-messages stackoverflow], and on
 [https://stackoverflow.com/questions/9840207/how-to-use-avx-pclmulqdq-on-
 mac-os-x stackoverflow].

 Upstream has a [https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=63826
 suggestion] with an
 [https://stackoverflow.com/a/19339845 explanation].

I do not know if this is something MacPorts can fix on our end, but there
is at least a fairly easy workaround ({{{-Wa,-q}}}).
