Comment (by Ionic):

 I'll remove the `cocoa` variant and replace its behavior based on
 `+x11`/`-x11`. The current configuration just fails to work correctly and
 there is no good way to fix it (regarding doing the stuff it's supposed to
 do).

 Currently just too busy, or would have done that two weeks ago. Hope to
 get to that by next week.
