Comment (by Ionic):

 I just noticed that there will be another problem, though: if `rust` is
 compiled with a non-default compiler, `cargo` will use that one, too. So
 whatever compiler is used to build `rust` MUST also be added as a build
 dependency of `cargo`. Not sure about other dependent ports.
