 I tried this build on 10.13, and is succeeded without any problem. I tried
 it on snowleopard and it failed. I also tried
 {{{
 sudo port -v install +gcc7
 }}}
 (which is the default) and it failed as well. It's not obvious to me why
 it's failing at the moment.
