 Thanks Ken, that looks like exactly what I was looking for.

 It doesn't seem discoverable, though (maybe I just haven't figured out a
 way to get there other than through the wiki index...)

 Would it be useful to link to that page from the `configure.compiler`
 documentation in the Guide? I could try to put together a PR for that if
 it made sense.
