 I tried installing `texlive +basic +letter` and got this error during the
 activate phase:

 :debug:activate system: texconfig-sys paper letter
 :info:activate sh: texconfig-sys: command not found
 :info:activate Command failed: texconfig-sys paper letter
 }}}

 After some investigating and trial and error, I found that `texconfig-sys`
 is provided by texlive-bin-extra, so installing that first resolved the
 problem. So, should the `letter` variant add that as a dependency? Or have
 the `letter` variant require the `medium` variant (which does have
 texlive-bin-extra as a dependency)?
