Comment:

 The (two years past py27 EOL) version of h5py that worked on 27 requires a
 multiple-feature-releases old version of HDF5.

 If someone wants to manage a separate old hdf5 installation to support an
 old Python version, I certainly won’t stop them, but I personally don’t
 have the bandwidth for that.
