 Yes indeed -- it's been broken nearly 5 years now, and only getting worse
 as more software won't build with the good-old-not-broken gcc-4.2/apple-
 gcc42 combo.

 The more software that gets forced to gcc7+, the more breakage we can
 expect to see.
