 Ken, this is Software Engineering 101: No reputable organization - at
 least, none that wish to be successful - would continually change the
 compiler for existing projects. Certainly not without very strong
 technical and business justification... and without guaranteed ROI.

 Optimization-related bugs are high on the list, given how fun those are to
 diagnose! But changes in strictness also are a big black hole time-wise.

 All of which you already know. And which everyone here should know.

 So the question is, why are we disregarding something so fundamental? This
 completely baffles me.
