 This may be a problem with my X11 setup (there is Macports one and XQuartz
 one) though.

 Meson backend is broken, and I do not want to waste time fixing it, to be
 honest. We can remain on `waf` for 0.36.0, and use it for pre-Catalina
 OSs.
