 This looks tricky. There are breaking API changes in build 1.0 and it
 appears to be a dependency of everything that uses pep512. Unfortunately
 it looks like the opportunity to cheese it and only distribute build 1.x
 with python 3.12 has passed. This is a dependency for poetry 1.7 and will
 probably be an increasing requirement for build tools as time goes on.
