 using a locally-made portindex indeed fixes the mysterious "cyrus-sasl2
 has no universal variant" issue.

 what the general fix for this issue in in MacPorts  I don't know.

 Then boost176 is a separate deal, as per #64954, and still needs a proper
 fix.
