Comment:

 Ok then I'll close this since the problem was solved by cleaning and
 trying again. New problems should be filed in new tickets.

 The gimp2-launcher port installs /Applications/MacPorts/GIMP.app. I would
 expect that double-clicking that in the Finder would launch GIMP. If it
 does not, and does not give you an error message, try running
 /opt/local/bin/gimp in the Terminal; maybe it will have a more detailed
 complaint that will either guide you toward a solution or will be
 information you can provide when you file a new ticket.
