 Sure, I get that. Just never been done in MacPorts before, so I don't know
 if the admins would allow that.

 I suppose if someone knew for sure that every port that uses ImageMagick
 works great with v7, and that is all nailed down and verified, there might
 not be.

 However this issue has so much history, and homebrew still maintains an
 ImageMagick v6 formula, so you might find that a difficult buy-in without
 a lot of proof. A bridge too far, perhaps.
