 xgcc is an internal temporary compiler built by gcc as part of its boot
 strap process. I cannot check anything w.r.t. it.

 Anyway, I think your suggest here is off the mark. I more suspect the
 issue is what Ken spotted, as that explains why only the OP here sees the
 problem.
