 An alternative fix was recently merged in commit
 https://github.com/macports/macports-
 ports/commit/3d830f34ca5b20269400aa9f19231a8bb3d36c29.  You should be able
 to get the new fix right now, with `port selfupdate`.  Xcode/CLT 15.0
 users, if you have the time, please test and report here.
