Comment (by ryandesign):

 Having confirmed that a prerelease of 3.29.1 does the same thing, both on
 our VMware-based buildbot and on a user's Parallels VM and on real
 hardware (comment:ticket:67540:15), we should report it to the developers,
 if that hasn't been done already.
