 it is not impossible that someone could create these symbols and add them
 to legacysupport (and the landing pads for the std::optional and other
 exceptions that cause issues as well, perhaps) and -- here's the part I
 don't know how to do -- make the linker accept them as coming from the
 libcxx namespace.

 I don't know how to do that -- but someone might know.
