Evidently Parallels is doing something with dscl </span><span style="text-indent: -160.7px; font-size: 11px;" class=""><font face="Helvetica Neue" class="">‘</font></span><span style="text-indent: -160.7px;" class=""><font face="Helvetica Neue" class=""><span style="font-size: 11px;" class="">under the covers’ - probably to set network routes or set the host name. I have noticed that Parallels puts the VM host name into /etc/hosts on the Mac system.
