But gnuplot needs an installed version of tetex to work properly. So
macports automatically downloads tetex and all other necessary packages
for you and installs them. When all requirements are met then gnuplot
will be downloaded and installed.
To see the dependencies for a port use this command:

port info <portnamehere>
