Default +universal variant for configure-based ports

Sorry, I should have mentioned that the change I made was made to  
trunk/ and only trunk/ users can take advantage of it for now.
Based on the MacPorts release scheme, it has yet to be tested to be  
incorporated into a release (shall it be 1.4.0 or 1.4.1 or whatever).
