I was under the impression from upstream that scipy will not be
compatible with python26 until 0.7.0 (0.7.0rc1 is scheduled to be
tagged pretty soon). I assume the above patch solved the superlu
compilation problem but does it looks like it doesn't solve the
related issue reported in this upstream message:

I get quite a few errors when running the test suite, most related to
the above issue.

FAILED (failures=1, errors=99)
