Re-requesting commit for 'lang/slime' 14136

I maintain 'lang/slime' but do not have commit rights.

Could someone please review the [Portfile attached to ticket 14136][1], 
and either provide feedback or commit it?  Extensive commentary on the 
changes has been attached to this ticket.
