I suggest:

  * removing the backslash at the end of the long description
  * using "extract.mkdir yes" instead of "file mkdir ${worksrcpath}"  
in the extract phase
  * using "copy" instead of "file copy"
  * using "${distpath}" instead of "${prefix}/var/macports/distfiles/$ 
{name}"
