This would require the LoggingProposal [1] to be implemented first.

We discussed this before and voted against it. We already have the
*-devel ports. What we really need would be a better dependency engine
which can handle alternatives and versions. Also, multiple versions of a
port would be good.

There is of course much to do with MacPorts, but we are still lacking a
roadmap...
