I ran into this as well with autoconf 2.63 when I updated trunk to 1.8;
autoconf 2.63 adds a variable, ac_cr, which is set to a Ctrl-M, and is
what I believe is confusing subversion.  Otherwise, the file itself is still
normal *nix-style line endings.
