Installing MacPorts on a pure Darwin x86 64 bits system

MacPorts *should* "just work" in pure darwin.

Have you tried setting up a pure-darwin chroot on your system?  I've  
never done this, since I've had no desire to strip functionality  
away... but it should be documented somewhere.
