I was going to say that this was put there by Josh and I assumed he had
a reason for it.
So now we know.

As an aside, the man pages that are installed with 1.8.0 don't seem to
reflect the changes
that are available in that release.  The guide isn't up to date either. 
Is there a source
for documentation on using the new features in 1.8.0 (other than the
ChangeLog)?
