Well, it worked fine for you, but not for the user who sent the
message.  I'd guess it is / was a problem with their network, or each
of the mirrors were experiencing problems at that time.  I'd bet on
the user having a network issue.  Can _they_ manually ping or fetch
from the servers?

I've seen other ports fetch from distfiles.macports.org as well.  I
presume that this is an automatically generated mirror and was the
fastest to respond during the fetch phase.
