OK with me -- one of my main concerns is that such an important (IMO)
port not be abandoned, and that should help.

Incidentally, I should point out that I expect to someday add a
emacs-devel that builds a CVS snapshot and can also be installed
concurrently (in the same way that both emacs and emacs22 can be
installed). I haven't yet gotten around to it since emacs23 is a
recent release so there hasn't been much of a need for something newer.
