Well that's sort of backwards ...
... it will be easier to fetch in foreground and run builds in background
because you just gonna build anything until the source is fetched.

But you can likely just use port in 2 passes, the first to fetch, the 2nd to build/install,
without messing around with foreground <-> background in a single execution.
