Thank you for your interest in getting this situation cleared up. I am sick and tired of it too.

One possible hurdle is that though we have agreed to call ourselves "The MacPorts Project" I don't believe there is a legal entity behind it. How have we handled Google Summer of Code projects in past years -- they pay us; who do they make the check out to? Where does the money get deposited?
