To take the analogy even further: there won't be someone to install the locked door once the windows are in. Given that information, installing said locked door now is better than after the windows.

It's not just a security standpoint, it's finding people patient enough to deal with the MacPorts internals (read: tcl).

I'll go back to cryptol land now :-p
