No biggie: I'll roll my own UUIDv3/UUIDv5 scheme under the "http://rpm5.org"
administrative domain.

I wish to see reliable and globally portable identification of the
specific build elements used in each port instance from MacPorts
even if others aren't.

UUID's are the new UID!
