Vacuuming

If the purpose of vacuuming is just to save space in the registry, would it be feasible to only vacuum sometimes, e.g. after say 10 ports have been uninstalled? My registry is 162MB; I think keeping a few extra unvacuumed entries in there temporarily won't increase that significantly.

Is it per deactivate command or per port deactivated?
