Is there perhaps a way that gdal-grass could ask grass for this directory path, or at least for its version number, rather than hardcoding it? I can't seem to install grass at the moment, but perhaps there is a pkg-config .pc file, or a grass-config script, or perhaps the grass program can be called with a -v or --version flag to have it print its version, which could be used here?
