images_to_archives.tcl failure?

I have a fairly long-running install of MacPorts (direct mode + archivemode) on a g4 that I just upgraded to 2.0

images_to_archives.tcl failed when attempting to build a new archive of one of the installed ports (because of a missing file). I'm not sure how/why the file was missing (and it might be really old registry corruption). 

Is there something I should be doing to fix up the install to keep it limping along? The machine is probably going to be retired soon, so I'm not planning on spending a bunch of effort on it.

If I can still install new ports and uninstall what's there, I don't really care too much if other things aren't working correctly.
