I don't think everybody will want to, the system's ssh-agent works fine 99% of the time. I just ran into an issue where launchd seems to be killing ssh-agent since 10.7.2 and instead of debugging it I just switched to MacPorts' ssh-agent:
$ grep ssh-agent /var/log/system.log
Oct 20 08:48:17 dhcp-cisco-vpn-172-30-6-15 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[280] (org.openbsd.ssh-agent[22069]): Exited with code: 2
Our Mac has two user accounts on it and I VPN into work, but at this time, I was not switching accounts nor logging in/out of VPN.
