macports fetch suggestion

I know of users that copy random stuff over to their .app bundles too,
but I'm not sure it's the best way. If it keeps them happy, why not...

As long as you have Leopard or later, you don't need dmg/mdmg though ?
You can build xar packages, with the port pkg package.flat=true option.

My main issues with .pkg are:
- It's proprietary (the .bom)
- Bad compression (only gzip)
- Lacks uninstall and upgrade

But it seems popular, anyway ?
