qt4-mac ...

... will get upgraded, finally, from 4.7.4 to 4.8.1 sometime in the next
few days / week. qt4-mac-devel will be bumped to 5.0-alpha, for those
wanting to be on the bleeding edge. I think there's been plenty of time
for developers to make sure that -the majority- of ports using QT 4.7
are compatible with Qt 4.8, and there are changes and fixes in 4.8 that
should be part of the normal Qt install in MacPorts by now (at least
IMHO). So, if your port uses Qt, I hope you've checked it out with
qt4-mac-devel already; if not, you might want to do so sooner rather
than later. Of course, I'm sure no matter our efforts for a smooth
transition there will still be issues; that's just the way it works in
MacPorts' land.

Question: Now that 'port' does the end-of-install library link checking,
do I still need to go through the rev-bump ports that use qt4-mac?
Because this is a "major" upgrade -- from 4.7 to 4.8 -- I/someone will
need to do one or the other. Thanks! - MLD
