You're right. It failed for me on the buildbot and I couldn't reproduce
it locally, because I had /opt/local/bin/perl in my $PATH and it would
use that.

There was a missing variable in configure where "perl" was hardcoded
instead, so /usr/bin/perl was used.

Fixed in r94813.
