The exact same files are present in mysql55 that builds without any
problems ! :-O

I did that too, but as far as I can see that's an additional download
for those interested in using the functionality.
to re-capitulate : all the necessary files *-are-* included with the
mariadb @5.2.23 source ; from the © notice it seems this has been in the
code since 2006.
