So - we've got 2 major problems :

1) make ports dependent on Perl -and/or- a Perl module
   independent on the major version of Perl
2) make it possible for Perl modules to be installed in several
   versions of Perl

As I see it, these are independent problems
So, let's solve them one at a time in separate threads ;-)
