I have the same issue and I am using Lion.
Because I sit behind a proxy server I cannot use rsync
and need to use svn to get any ports.
However, because then built-in svn does not trust https://svn.macports.org
I cannot install any ports.

Safari is happy with the certificate
(fingerprint: 7C 85 A4 FC 83 1A 3A 3B 1F 6D 94 0D E9 86 08 30)
How do I check what fingerprint svn is seeing?
