2.40.1 is the newest stable version, isn't it? 2.41.1, having an odd number in the second component, is a development version, assuming libsoup follows gnome version numbering conventions. Thus it's ok that libsoup 2.41.1 requires glib 2.35, which is also a development version (available in the glib2-devel port for anyone who wants to test it).
