texi2html on Snow Leopard

It seems that texi2html on Snow Leopard didn't report it's version in the configure phase for the just-committed lilypond-devel:
    checking for texi2html... texi2html
    checking texi2html version... 
    ...
    ERROR: Please install required programs:  texi2html >= 1.82 (installed: )

This worked fine on the Lion buildbot [1], and my Mountain Lion VM.

Any ideas on what might have gone wrong? Mailing dports at ... directly since he's invested in TeXLive.

Build logs are available under compile::stdio [2].
