Yeah you're right, I guess I should have thought about that. But then again, there could be a minimal trusted base, but that's a matter for another argument, my question has been answered.

Are you suggesting MacPorts should act as global distributed build
system and binary packages built by users should be uploaded to some
server for re-distribution? I hope you're aware of the security
nightmare that would be.
