Thanks Blair Ryan for the explanation. I just wish there would be some other mechanism somehow able to tweak the ‘update detection’ script. E.g, considering that any X.Y.Z version is actually newer than X.Y.Z-…; more precisely, that any trailing hyphen indicates a development version.
