The way to handle unversioned distfiles is:

https://trac.macports.org/wiki/PortfileRecipes#unversioned-distfiles

Changing it now would cause the same distfile to be unnecessarily fetched and mirrored a second time, so I'd wait to change it until you next update the port's version.
